WARREN -- Church of the Blessed Sacrament was the setting at 2:30 p.m. July 27 for the wedding of Danielle Renee Markel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Markel, 1088 Wilson-Sharpsville Road, Cortland, and Patrick Ian Hopper, son of Sue Hopper and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hopper, all of Newark.
The Rev. Donald King officiated, and a reception was held at DiVieste's Banquet Hall. After a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean, the couple are living in North Ridgeville.
The bride wore a white satin A-line gown that featured spaghetti straps, a split back and tulle train. It was enhanced with beaded lace, and a tiara held her cathedral-length veil.
Her sister, Shannon Markel, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Julie Fillwock, Tiffany Fine, Denise Franklin and Carolyn Oravec. The bride's cousin, Peyton Higgins, was flower girl.
Jacob Glover performed the duties of best man, and groomsmen were Randall Peters, Richard Ison, Douglas Klein and the groom's brother, Matthew Hopper. Ring bearer was Billy Erskine.
A cum laude graduate of Bowling Green State University with a bachelor's degree in education, Mrs. Hopper is an elementary-school teacher with the Elyria City Schools.
Her husband also graduated cum laude from BGSU with a degree in education. He is a high-school mathematics teacher with the North Olmsted City Schools.
