Culinary extravaganza to feature international fare, auction, music



Area chefs will create everything from main-course dishes to desserts.
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Edward W. Powers Auditorium will be the setting Sept. 29 for "A Symphony of Good Taste," a culinary extravaganza to be sponsored by the Youngstown Symphony Guild.
The fund-raising event will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will feature international fare created by area chefs.
The variety, ranging from main-course dishes to desserts, will be complemented with tastes of wines and beers.
Among the highlights of the evening will be a silent culinary auction of assorted kitchen and food items, a cigar bar and music.
The cost for the evening is $45 per person. Space is limited; reservations are required by Sept. 15. For tickets or additional information contact the Youngstown Symphony Center, (330) 744-4269.
Proceeds will go toward Youngstown Symphony Orchestra concerts and programs.
Behind the scenes
Mary Walton is president of guild, and serving as co-chairmen for the event are Jeanne Simeone and Elizabeth McGarry. They are being assisted by a committee composed of Jackie Motsinger, Kara Thomas, Debbie Liptak, Adele Lipari, Pam Kirko, Phyllis Wilkie, Patricia Kavic, Susan Huber and Irene Loser.
