YOUNGSTOWN -- St. Columba Cathedral was the setting at 2:30 p.m. July 20 as marriage vows were exchanged by Andrea Marie Petrella and Elmer William Takash III.
Parents of the bride are Millie and Andrew Petrella of Girard, and the groom is a son of Elmer and Robin Takash of Hubbard.
Monsignor Lawrence C. Fye presided at the wedding ceremony, and the couple were honored afterward during a reception held at Stambaugh Auditorium.
After a delayed honeymoon cruise the couple will live in Seattle, Wash.
The bride wore a white, strapless, princes-style gown. It featured a tulip overlay embellished with Alencon lace and pearls and had a chapel train.
Matron of honor was Tiffany Ohlin, and bridesmaids were Jennifer Szallai, Janine Malloy, Heather Yake and Tina Takash, the groom's sister, all in lilac-colored gowns. Flower girl was the bride's cousin, Abby Connell.
Jason Takash performed the duties of best man for his brother, and groomsmen were Chuck Hart, Rusty Langley and Dominic Petrella, the bride's brother.
The bride graduated magna cum laude from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in communication studies. She is a civilian public-affairs specialist for the U.S. Army in Seattle.
The groom, a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army, will be based at Fort Lewis in Seattle after Oct. 6. He holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from YSU.
