ACS event in Warren
WARREN -- The American Cancer Society's Celebration on the Hill Bus will be at Warren G. Harding High School's Mollenkopf Stadium, home of Ohio's largest single ACS Relay for Life, at 6 p.m. Monday.
The bus is a rolling petition (people sign the bus) which will culminate its cross-country tour when it arrives in Washington, D.C., for the Celebration on the Hill on Sept. 18 and 19. Phylecia Wilson, an ACS volunteer and chairwoman of the Gwinnett County Relay for Life in Georgia, which raised more than $2 million in 2001, is the keynote speaker for the Warren event, to which the public is invited. Wilson was recently diagnosed with chronic myelogenous leukemia. The bus, sponsored by ACS Relay for Life, began its tour March 6 in New York City and has visited more than 400 cities in 42 states.
