New flag at courthouse
YOUNGSTOWN -- A new, larger American flag is flying from a pole at the U.S. District Court downtown, something U.S. District Judge Peter C. Economus wanted after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11.
Within 30 days, the 8-by-12-foot flag will be illuminated by a spotlight, which means it can remain up at all times, said Vicky Armstrong, deputy-in-charge at the federal clerk of court office. Unlighted flags are supposed to come down at dusk.
