Poland Township man awaits drug sentence after plea deal

YOUNGSTOWN -- A Poland Township man, who police say was part of a father-and-son suburban drug-dealing team, will be sentenced in two months.
Christopher Gentile, 29, of Clingan Road, pleaded guilty in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to multiple felony drug violations.
He could get more than 35 years in prison, but the county prosecutor's office will recommend that a 10-year prison sentence be imposed.
The recommendation was part of a plea agreement, but the final decision will be up to Judge R. Scott Krichbaum when he sentences Gentile on Oct. 18.
Gentile was arrested in June after member of the Mahoning Valley Drug Task Force and the Struthers and Poland police departments searched his house. They also searched the Struthers home of Gentile's father, Larry Gentile of Clingan Road. Larry Gentile has not been arrested.
Seized in the raids were suspected cocaine, drug processing equipment, a list of suspected drug customers and weapons, including a machine gun with a silencer.
Authorities said most of the items were found in a hidden room in the basement of the Struthers address.
