Vindicator seeks vetsof war on terrorism
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Vindicator is seeking military veterans of Enduring Freedom, America's war on terrorism, to interview for Sept. 11 one-year anniversary stories. Day of Caring collectsitems for food bank
YOUNGSTOWN -- Join the fifth annual Youngstown/Mahoning Valley United Way "Day of Caring" by bringing nonperishable food items to Second Harvest Foodbank, 1122 E. Midlothian Blvd., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 27.
Food donations to Second Harvest typically decrease during the summer, but the need to feed the hungry in this area continues throughout the year.
All nonperishable food is welcome, but there is a particular need for cereal and peanut butter.
Employees from First Place Bank and Aim NationaLease will receive donations at the food bank as part of their involvement with the Day of Caring.
