YSU-Association of Classified Employees
YSU trustees approved a new contract with its classified staff union.
Terms of contract: Three years beginning Friday.
Salary increase: 3 percent annually plus bonuses up to $500 for student enrollment increases.
Average salary: $35,000 a year.
Term of work: 12 months.
Retirement: University continues to contribute a figure equal to 14 percent of each employee's salary toward state retirement.
Medical benefits: Eliminates traditional medical coverage plan; increases doctor co-payments from $0 to $5 a visit; prescription drugs are $2 for generic and $12 for name brand, compared with $0 and $2 under the old contract.
