Three teams from Valley to ride in MS 150 Bike Tour

BEREA -- Three teams from the Mahoning Valley are scheduled to participate in the Multiple Sclerosis 150 Bike Tour. The local chapter, Pedal to the Point, will ride from Berea to Sandusky and back this Saturday and Sunday.
They are: Chain Reaction, captains, Jay Scheetz and Jeff Jay, co-owners of Physical Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation in Warren; Autumn's Joy, captain, John Fithian, Berlin Center; and Blacksheep, captain, David Patch Jr., Warren.
The 12-member Chain Reaction team, which includes Scheetz's wife, Melissa, and Jay's wife, Darice, will ride one leg of the tour, 82 miles from Berea to Sandusky on Saturday. Jay said the team raised $6,000 last year, and this year's goal is $8,000.
The Pedal to the Point tour, one of many local events that make up the national MS 150 Bike Tour, has raised about $7.1 million over its 15 years of existence.
Sixty percent of the money raised by the Ohio Buckeye Chapter remains in the area to fund programs for the more than 8,000 people with MS in the eastern and central Ohio areas.
