Columbiana panel OKs various plans

COLUMBIANA -- Robert Schwartz, one of the owners of Whispering Pines Village, told the city planning commission about the company's plans to expand its assisted living facility at 937 E. Park Ave.
Bob Belding, city zoning inspector, said the company plans to build six duplex buildings with 12 housing units on the property.
Belding said the commission approved site plans Tuesday for a Cashland office at 144 N. Main St. He said the company has made major interior renovations to the former Village Restaurant building.
Belding added that the commission approved a site plan from Betty Lucas of the Shop on Main. Lucas plans to renovate the garage on her property at 311 N. Main St. She sells a variety of home decorating items and will move her shop from her home to the garage, he said.
The planning commission approved a site plan for Triple J, an auto detail shop, for 40 W. Salem St., the former site of a similar business, Busy Bee, which relocated, Belding said.
