Aug. 5
Discharge of firearm: A city resident was charged with discharging a firearm within the city limits and given a court date after neighbors complained he used .22-caliber gun to kill a groundhog in his back yard.
Aug. 6
Drug paraphernalia: A 50-year-old Youngstown man was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and drug paraphernalia on Herbert Road. Police found a switchblade knife, a sword sheath about 15 inches long disguised as a walking cane, silver scissors with suspected marijuana residue and the remains of a marijuana cigarette on the man during a traffics top at Sawmill and Herbert Road. He was taken to jail, and bond was set at $3,500.

Drug abuse: Suspected marijuana was found on a 22-year-old Warren man who was charged with drug abuse after a traffic stop on Surry Lane. The female driver was charged with driving under a suspended license.
Aug. 10
Cocaine: A 44-year-old Canfield man was charged with possession of suspected cocaine during a traffic stop on Sawmill Run Road.
Criminal damaging: Rocks were thrown through the rear window of a car parked in the 800 block of Blueberry Hill Drive.

Theft: Items were taken by a man from Thrifty Rick's, 3933 Mahoning Ave.
Theft: A boys bicycle was taken from Frank Ohl Middle School, 3933 Mahoning Ave.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle window was damaged at Superior Auto Body, 51 Fitch Blvd.
Theft: Fuel was reported stolen at Certified Gas Station, 825 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Warrant: A man was turned over to Lordstown police after being arrested on a warrant in the 200 block of Innwood Street.
Theft: Outdoor ornaments were stolen from the 500 block of Western Plaza.
Theft: Stereo equipment was stolen from an auto in the 4000 block of Pembrook Road.
Criminal damaging: A tire was cut in the 6000 block of Slippery Rock.
Attempted auto theft: In the 100 block of Compass West.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle window was broken in the 1000 block of Compass West.
Theft: Two male juveniles were arrested for stealing at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Disturbance: An altercation between neighbors was reported in the 100 block of Georgetown Place.
Assault: A man was accused of assault in the 3000 block of Artmar Drive.

Theft: A 26-year-old female was arrested for theft of fuel at the BP gas station, 3602 Mahoning Ave.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged at Teleperformance, 100 Westchester Drive.
Theft: Gasoline was stolen from Certified, 825 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Criminal damaging: A summons was issued for the arrest of a man for criminal damaging in the 60 block of N. Raccoon Road.
Theft: Two warrants were issued for the arrest of a juvenile on charges of theft at the I.G.A., 4477 Mahoning Ave.

Fraud: A suspect opened an account with a fake identification at Farmers National Bank, 22 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Theft: $10.51 in gasoline was stolen from the Country Fair, 1143 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Criminal damaging: Windows were broken at Lynn Kirk Elementary School, 4211 Evelyn Road.
Theft: A checkbook with 39 checks was stolen from the 3000 block of New Road.

Drug offense: A man was arrested for possession of marijuana at The Mill, 1743 S. Raccoon Road.
Drug offense: One male was arrested for possession of marijuana, OxyContin and drug paraphernalia and another for having an open container in a vehicle at the Wedgewood Plaza, 1700 S. Raccoon Road.
Drug offense: A woman was arrested in the 4200 block of New Road for possession of marijuana and was also turned over to Youngstown police for failure to appear.
Drug offense: A male suspect was arrested for being in possession of dangerous drugs and for deception to obtain dangerous drugs at Wal-Mart.
Warrant: A male suspect was arrested on a warrant for theft out of Struthers.
Theft: A ladder was taken from a pickup truck in the 10 block of North Roanoke Avenue.
Criminal damaging: Doors were damaged at Home Savings, 6000 Mahoning Avenue.
Misuse of credit card: An unknown suspect used the victim's credit card in the 4000 block of Westmont Drive.
Theft: A credit card was reported stolen in the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Criminal damaging: The front window on a house was broken in the 3000 block of Allendale Avenue.
Assault: The victim suffered a broken jaw in an assault in the 3000 block of Northwood Avenue.
Theft: $11.21 in gasoline was stolen from the BP gas station, 890 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged by the owner's ex-girlfriend in the 4000 block of New Road.
