Going away party is simple and cheap, which, coincidentally, is not unlike her fellow editorialists
Patricia A. Kelvin ended seven glorious years at The Vindicator today, bidding ado to the ink-stained wretches of the newsroom with an unseemly amount of glee.
Having come to The Vindicator from Youngstown State University in 1995, she is returning to the scholarly world of Mount Union College.
She will be taking with her a number of editorial writing awards she won over a period of seven years, as well as a deep and abiding respect for her colleagues. If she says otherwise, it matters not because she is no longer being paid to express her opinions.
Dr. Kelvin -- you didn't have to call her doctor, but you damn well better not call her Pat -- will continue to live in Poland, where she promises to read The Vindicator daily (and twice on Sunday).
It is a little known fact that Dr. Kelvin wrote almost every sports related editorial in The Vindicator over the last seven years. This was widely attributed to the fact that her colleagues, Bertram de Souza and Dennis Mangan, write like girls.
There are other things we could say, space permitting, but these pictures are worth a thousand words.
