Calls for 'West Wing'
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- There were 1,202 extra hopefuls at Saturday's open casting call at Westminster College, said Nancy Mosser Casting of Pittsburgh. Hundreds more have sent their photographs and applications for the two-day shooting of the "West Wing" in Lawrence County. Casting agents are searching for the 300 people who will be Secret Service agents, paramedics, politicians and members of the crowd, said Melanie Craycar, a casting agency assistant. Those hired for the two-day shoot near Volant, Pa., will be filming part of the show's season premiere Aug. 23-24. Casting agents will start making calls to those chosen for the nonspeaking parts later this week. They are still searching for a German shepherd to act as a police dog.
