Spurios honored on anniversary by friends, family

YOUNGSTOWN -- The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Spurio, 32 Mill Run Drive, was celebrated Aug. 10 with friends and family members at a dinner party held at the home of a son and daughter-in-law, David and Donna Spurio, South Saratoga Avenue.
Co-hosts for the festivities were the couple's other son and daughter-in-law, William and Darlene Spurio of Hubbard. Also participating were their two grandchildren.
The former Betty R. Schiefer and Mr. Spurio were united in marriage Aug. 15, 1952, at St. John's Episcopal Church, where they are members.
Prior to retiring, Mr. and Mrs. Spurio were teachers with Youngstown City School District. He served as a staff sergeant with the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II.
