Memorial concert set
NEW SPRINGFIELD -- A memorial concert, "The Spirit of America," has been planned for 7 p.m. Sept. 11 at Springfield Sports Arena behind the high school. Admission is free. All New Middletown, Petersburg and Springfield police, firefighters, EMTs, veterans and active military personnel are invited as special guests. Meeting candidates
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Democratic Women's club will sponsor a "Meet the Candidates Night" from 6-9 p.m. today at Mr. Anthony's on the River on Mahoning Avenue. The public can meet with Democratic candidates and enjoy hot dogs, hamburgers and more.
CPR, AED classes
HUBBARD -- Hubbard Community Pool, 250 Hall Ave., will offer American Heart Association CPR and AED certification classes from 5-9 p.m. Aug. 21. Registration deadline is Aug. 18. Fee is $15. Call (330) 534-6256.
Village's garage sale
SEBRING -- The village will have its first communitywide garage sale Thursday through Saturday. More than 60 garages and a few merchants and restaurants will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. those days.
