GIRARD -- The marriage of Kerri Michelle Vesely and Mathew Paul Benson, both of 1305 41st St. N.W., Canton, was solemnized by the Rev. Charles Poor at 2 p.m. July 20 at St. Rose Church.
The newlyweds were honored during a reception at McMenamy's in Niles before leaving on a wedding trip to Jamaica.
They live at the Canton address.
Parents of the couple are Ronald and Elaine Vesely, 7 Cheyenne Drive, and Don and Paula Benson, 5344 Peninsula Drive N.W., Canton.
Venise lace, pearls and sequins enhanced the bride's white satin gown. It featured spaghetti straps and a chapel train.
Victorian-lilac gowns were worn by the bride's sisters and honor attendants, Christine and Katie Vesely, and the bridesmaids, Jennifer Nestor, April Dickson and Maria Benson, the groom's sister-in-law. Flower girl was the groom's niece, Sara Benson.
Rick Cheyney was best man, and groomsmen were Andy and Scott Benson, brothers of the groom; A.J. Teramana, his cousin; and Tony Fix. Ring bearer was the groom's nephew, Alex Benson.
The bride graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and is pursuing a master's in gifted education at Ashland University. She is a teacher with Jackson Local Schools, Canton.
The groom, a special-education teacher with Canton City Schools, holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Muskingum College, New Concord. He is pursuing a master's in administration at Ashland University.
