CANFIELD Camp Fire seeks area volunteers



Adults are needed to be trained as club leaders.
CANFIELD -- Camp Fire USA Northeast Ohio Council is looking for volunteers in Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Summit and Trumbull counties.
"Our needs can involve adults who have several hours a week to those who have only an hour a month," says Barbara Smith, the council's CEO. "We have a lot to offer a community, but we need volunteers to accomplish our mission of providing programs that build caring, confident youth and future leaders' in each community."
With September approaching, Camp Fire USA is searching for adults to be trained to be club leaders. Club curriculum is available for boys and girls grades kindergarten through 12.
Teens In Action, a national service learning club, is searching for school advisers to begin TIA clubs. Teens In Action is opening to grades 6-12. The council provides training for the volunteers in these programs.
Camp Fire USA also is looking for people to clip out articles that appear in local papers about Camp Fire USA. The clips would be sent to the council's office. Volunteers also could help by arranging for a speaking engagement for the CEO at local service clubs.
