Here are the 10 most expensive projects included in the long-range transportation plan for Mahoning and Trumbull counties. The plan includes descriptions of every transportation projected slated to be funded with federal money during the next 28 years.
Mahoning/Trumbull: State Route 46 -- Widen between New Road and Silica Road in Austintown and between Blunt and Seaborn streets in Weathersfield Township; $15.4 million.
Trumbull: Research Parkway extension -- Construct two-lane road in Champion and Bazetta townships between North River Road and the intersection of Research Parkway and Perkins-Jones road, which has yet to be constructed; $9.1 million.
Trumbull: Austintown-Warren Road -- Replace bridge over the Meander Reservoir; $8 million.
Trumbull: U.S. Route 422 -- Widen between Interstate 80 and the northern border of Girard; $7.2 million.
Trumbull: Study traffic near Eastwood Mall; $5.7 million.
Mahoning: Western Reserve Road -- Widen between Hitchcock Road and Interstate 680 in Boardman; $5.6 million.
Mahoning: U.S. Route 62-- Rehabilitate the bridge over Crab Creek in Youngstown; $5.4 million.
Trumbull: Heaton North Road -- Widen between U.S. Route 422 in Niles and East Market Street in Warren; $4 million.
Trumbull: State Route 87-- Widen between state Routes 534 and 45; $3.5 million.
