Program gets grant
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Mahoning Valley College Access Program received a $5,000 grant from the Ruth E. Beecher Charitable Trust. The money will be used to support the MVCAP's mission and activities.
MVCAP is a nonprofit, charitable organization started in 2001 by The Raymond John Wean Foundation of Warren. Its mission is to increase the number of Valley students who continue their education past high school. Through grants and contributions, MVCAP provides free advertising and resources on university admissions and financial aid, books to raise awareness of college among elementary pupils and "gap" scholarships for students and parents in Trumbull and Mahoning counties.
