HELP HOTLINE What it does

Help Hotline offers social and mental health services to residents of Mahoning, Trumbull, Columbiana and Ashtabula counties and operates an emergency crisis intervention center and referral services:
Crisis Intervention: 24-hour service provides after-hours hotline for mental health agencies.
Suicide Prevention: 24-hour service offers education program for schools, agencies and the general community and a Survivors of Suicide support group.
Community Resources: 24-hour centralized information and referral center for Mahoning and Columbiana counties.
Victims of Crime Hotline: Crisis intervention and emergency linkage to rape counselors and domestic violence professionals and shelters; full-time victim advocate.
TDD: After-hours message service; dispatches for emergencies for the deaf and hearing-impaired.
Safe School Line: 24-hour hotline for students, faculty members, families and the general public to express concerns and notify of dangers and at-risk situations.
Senior Line: Information, referral and support services for the 55-plus population of Mahoning and Columbiana counties.
1-800-HAWK-NOW: 24-hour confidential crime tip hotline for Mahoning and Trumbull counties.
H.A.P.: Housing Assistance Program for the Mahoning County mental health system.
Payeeship Program: Authorized representative payee for Mahoning and Columbiana counties mental health consumers.
Guardianship Program: Legal guardian of persons and, in some cases, of the estates of mental health consumers under age 55.
Recovery Project: Empowers consumers of mental health to accept their illness, take control of the management of their illness and become an active member of the community.
PhoneFriend: After-school latchkey student line.
Volunteer Program: Basic training for working the Hotline phones is 36 classroom hours and 32 hours of on-line training under supervision. Volunteers work a minimum of four hours and a maximum of eight hours a week for a commitment of one year after training.
