MARTHA GUBANYBRAD BROOKS
BOARDMAN -- St. James Meeting House in Boardman Township Park was the setting March 23 for the 2 p.m. wedding of Martha L. Gubany and Brad J. Brooks.
Parents of the bride are Roger and Isabelle Plant, 314 Castle Inn, Greenville, N.C., former area residents. Mr. Brooks is a son of Sally Brooks, 107 Clark Hill Road, Milford, Conn., and the late William Brooks.
Chaplain Paul Milliken officiated, and a reception was held at Willow Creek in Girard. After a honeymoon cruise to the western Caribbean, the newlyweds live at 8 Poseidon Place, Hampton, Va.
The bride wore an ivory gown designed with an off-the-shoulder neckline and beaded bodice with rum accents. The hemline and chapel train were similarly enhanced.
Crystal Plant of Greenville, the bride's sister, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Michelle Trebus, Niles, and Khrystel Kirschstein, Newport News, Va. They wore lilac gowns. Flower girls were the bride's niece, Kristen Richard, Niles, and the groom's niece, Erin Dunn, Milford.
Best man was Robert Esser of Hampton, and groomsmen were Timothy Brooks of Milford and William Brooks of Southington, Conn., brothers of the groom. Nathan Plant of Greenville, the bride's nephew, was ring bearer.
Mrs. Brooks holds a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Akron. Her husband earned an associate degree in armament systems technology at the Community College of the Air Force. The couple are computer programmers with the U.S. Air Force stationed in Hampton.
