A purse snatching is the focus of Mercer County Crime Solvers this week:
Crime: Robbery.Location: Wal-Mart parking lot, Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage.Details: Police said a white woman approached a 63-year-old city woman in the parking lot near a lawn and garden display and engaged her in conversation briefly before grabbing the victim's purse and escaping in newer model white Cadillac driven by a white male. The purse contained cash, prescription drugs, credit cards and identification papers.Suspect: The robber was described as a white woman in her 20s, about 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing about 125 pounds. She had light brown hair pulled back in a ponytail and wore brown sandals and a blue and white or black and white checkered one-piece outfit.Contact: Call Crime Solvers between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at (724) 347-HELP. Callers do not have to give their names.Reward: Crime Solvers, a nonprofit organization, offers cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of anyone responsible for a serious crime in Mercer County.
