Historian will speakon Crawford Co. blacks
MERCER, Pa. -- The Underground Railroad and Abolitionist Era Discussion Group will have its monthly meeting at 7:15 p.m. Monday at the Helen Black Miller Memorial Chapel social hall, Pitt Street.
Marianne Woods, commonwealth speaker for the Pennsylvania Humanities Council, will present "A Significant Past: African-Americans in Crawford County."
Woods has published articles and edited books about Pennsylvania history.
Her presentation is supported in part by a grant from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
A potluck dinner at 6 p.m. will precede the meeting.
