YOUNGSTOWN -- A woman was unharmed after shots were fired at her home in the 500 block of Myrtle Avenue around 9:35 a.m. Sunday.
The 24-year-old victim said she was walking up the driveway when a woman with whom she is having a dispute drove up and fired three shots.
Police found a bullet hole in the house and a .22-caliber shell casing. Police also found a bottle of gasoline with a rag fuse at the scene that was secured by the Youngstown Fire Department.
New zoning inspectorin Milton Township
LAKE MILTON -- Milton Township trustees have appointed a new zoning inspector. Elizabeth Opre of Berlin Center will begin her duties May 1 when Curt Dungan resigns.
Clerk Bonnie Spencer said Saturday that Opre has previous experience as the township's zoning inspector.
Dungan is resigning because he said he did not have enough time to devote to the job, Spencer said.
Reviewing use of funds
BOARDMAN -- Boardman School District will have a public meeting at 9 a.m. Thursday in the IMC classroom at the high school to review the use of federal funds.
Women in science eventat Youngstown State
YOUNGSTOWN -- Dr. Cynthia J. Marshall-Petroff, a dental surgeon in private practice in Norton, will be speaker at the fourth annual Women in Science and Engineering Career Workshop on Saturday at Youngstown State University.
The event introduces girls in grades six through 12 in Mahoning and Trumbull counties to career opportunities in science and technology. The day will feature panel discussions and hands-on activities on topics such as medicine, forensic science, massage therapy and nursing.

MRDD information
POLAND -- Iron and String Life Enhancement in collaboration with Mahoning County Council for Retarded Citizens will present an informal question- and-answer forum from 6 to 9 p.m. May 1 at the new Poland Library, 311 S. Main St.
Peggy Martin and Jeff Davis of the state MRDD will provide information about the functions of the county MRDD Board and its effects on adult clients.
Parents are invited to attend; two respite workers will be available on a first come, first served basis to provide supervision for a maximum of 10 adult clients at the library the night of the forum.

Police stops in Uptown
YOUNGSTOWN -- Mahoning County deputies made 48 traffic and pedestrian stops in the city's Uptown area from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Sunday.
Maj. Michael Budd said officers made three weapons arrests, two arrests on outstanding warrants and an arrest on charges of marijuana possession and obstruction of official business.
Officers also issued seven citations for open alcohol containers and nine traffic citations. They seized six vehicles driven by operators with suspended licenses and recovered one stolen vehicle.
Realtist of the Year
YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown-Warren Association of Real Estate Brokers, during Fair Housing Month this month, will have its first Realtist of the Year Awards and Scholarship Luncheon from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Anthony's On the River.
The scholarship will be given to an inner-city high school senior who has demonstrated excellence through academic achievement and/or service to the community, and who wants a profession in real estate.
The Realtist of the Year Award will be given to an individual who has shown exemplary service to the community in the area of housing and equal opportunity.
This year's honoree will be Marnette Nelson, former vice president and community relations officer for Home Savings and Loan Co.
