Club will clean up Guilford Lake area



HANOVERTON -- United Local Ruri-Teen Club's third annual recycling day Saturday will include a cleanup effort at Guilford Lake. The recycling project will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at United Local High School.
The cleanup of the Guilford Lake area will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
At the high school, Ruri-Teens will accept cans, bundled paper, bundled or boxed phone books and magazines, bundled scrap aluminum, bottles and jars and recyclable plastic.
Cardboard will not be accepted.
Volunteers who want to assist in the cleanup are to meet at the Ruritan hall at state Route 172 and Hanna Drive in Guilford Lake.
Volunteers will be assigned to teams to pick up litter on the streets, beaches, picnic areas and shoreline.
Volunteers with pickup trucks are needed to haul recyclables to the recycling center and bagged trash to the bins at the Guilford Lake Ruritan Club. Guilford Lake Ruritans will serve lunch.
Proceeds from recycled material will benefit the Ruri-Teens scholarship fund.
