Bowlathon for kids
YOUNGSTOWN -- Big Brothers & amp; Big Sisters of Mahoning Valley will have its 19th annual Bowl for Kids' Sake Bowlathon from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Camelot Lanes in Boardman. Proceeds go toward program development. All bowling and shoe rentals are free. Food will be provided by more than 20 area restaurants, and there will be more than 75 door prizes and an opportunity to win a grand prize for bringing in the most pledges.
To secure a team, call Big Brothers & amp; Big Sisters for pledge packets at (330) 545-0002. Teams of six are needed; each player should collect pledges of $55.
Band, orchestra concert
LIBERTY -- Youngstown city schools will present the annual All Star Honors Band and Orchestra Concert at 7:30 p.m. May 1 in the Liberty High School auditorium. Admission is $2. The concert features about 400 students; guest director Edward Fabrizio, band director at Girard High School; and guest narrator Ode Aduma, host of WKBN-TV's "Sunday Mornings with Ode." The program will include performances by elementary, junior high, middle and high school pupils.
