Risky waste to be collected



CANFIELD -- A household hazardous-waste collection for Mahoning County residents is set for May 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m at Canfield Fairgrounds.
Participants should enter through Gate 9 off state Route 46 and exit onto Leffingwell Road.
The collection will take place near the dairy barns.
The Recycling Division of Mahoning County, which is sponsoring the event, asks that those with last names beginning with the letters A through F come from 9 to 11 a.m.; G through N from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and O to Z from 1 to 3 p.m.
No explosives or tires will be accepted.
These household items will be accepted: paint, bleach, solvents, poisons, stains, greases, thinners, acids, antifreeze, aerosol cans, lighter fluid, roof coatings, varnish, pesticides, automotive fluids, used motor oil, propane cylinders, adhesives and glue, medicines, gasoline, insecticides, pool chemicals, asbestos (please double-bag), photo chemicals, wood preservatives, car batteries, household cleaners and herbicides.
