Family dinner held to honor Carlson jubilee
NEW MIDDLETOWN -- A family dinner April 14 at the Holiday Inn South in Boardman honored Mr. and Mrs. Raymond M. Carlson, 35 Ward Ave., for the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Hosts and hostess for the event were the honorees' son, Donald Carlson of Poland, and daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Anthony Luscre of Stow.
The former Erma M. Stickel and Mr. Carlson exchanged marriage vows during a ceremony April 12, 1952, at United Presbyterian Church of Warren.
A registered nurse, Mrs. Carlson retired in 1988 from Little Forest Medical Center in Youngstown and also worked at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.
Mr. Carlson was an industrial engineering supervisor at Republic Steel Corp. in Youngstown and Warren, retiring in 1982 after 34 years of service. He also served in the U.S. Navy.
The couple are members of First Covenant Church in Boardman.
Their family circle includes two grandchildren.
