Home that was site of rape to be torn down, judge rules

WARREN -- A Bristol Township home where a 5-year-old girl was raped last year is to be demolished, a Trumbull County Common Pleas judge has ruled.
Judge W. Wyatt McKay ruled Friday that the state Route 88 home owned by David McCafferty is unsafe and should be demolished.
Bristol Township officials said they plan to demolish the home sometime next week.
The home had been rented by Roy McDaniel, his friend Angelique Bailey and their children. In July, Bailey left her then-5-year-old daughter and her two other children with McDaniel's 14-year-old son. While Bailey and McDaniel were out of town, the 5-year-old was raped by the 14-year-old.
McDaniel and Bailey both pleaded guilty to a count of child endangering. McDaniel was sentenced to 45 days in jail and Bailey received 60 days.
McDaniel's son, Thomas J., pleaded guilty in juvenile court in October to one delinquency charge of rape. He was sentenced to one to seven years in an Ohio Department of Youth Services facility.
