AUSTINTOWN -- The Salvation Army's Austintown Council will conduct its annual clothing drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Austintown Plaza. All donations of new and used clothing and accessories will be appreciated.
Ground zero volunteerwill speak at luncheon
YOUNGSTOWN -- A member of the Ohio Crisis Response Team is among the speakers scheduled for the annual Luncheon in Honor of Victims of Crime. The Rev. Stephen C. Current of Amsterdam was one of thousands of volunteers who worked at ground zero in New York City after the terrorist attacks. The luncheon is set for noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mr. Anthony's On The River, 15 Oak Hill Ave.
The event also features Lt. Commander Roland Rosales of Vienna of the U.S. Naval Reserve and Jim Blythe of Rittman of the Veterans Administration. All will speak about the aftermath of Sept. 11 and its effects on the military community.
Tickets are $15 per person and can be reserved by calling Pam Washington at the Help Hotline Crisis Center, (330) 747-2696. The luncheon is sponsored by Help Hotline's victim assistance program and is funded by Ohio Attorney General's Office for Victims of Crime.
