2 charged in murder
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes Task Force has arrested William J. Vaughn, 21, of Berwick Avenue, on an aggravated-murder warrant in the Feb. 21 shooting of Justin Treasic, 21, of Logan Avenue, who died the next day. Vaughn was arrested at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday on North Truesdale Avenue.
Also charged with aggravated murder is Freddie Lewis, 19, of Victoria Street, who told police he was buying marijuana from Treasic and intended to rob him. Treasic, a YSU student and an honors graduate of Ursuline High School, was found shot in the head in a North Side field.
East Side cleanup
YOUNGSTOWN -- There will be a cleanup project on the East Side starting at 9 a.m. Friday at 1426 Himrod Ave. The boundaries are Rigby and Oak streets and includes Jackson, Byron, Truesdale and Ayers. Residents are asked to bag trash and leave it on the curb for pickup.
Delivery man missing
YOUNGSTOWN -- A delivery man for Sleepy Hollow Sleep Shop on Salt Springs Road is missing after collecting $2,436 from a customer in New Middletown, according to police reports.
The 31-year-old West Sider hasn't been back to work since Tuesday and hasn't been seen by his wife since then. His wife filed a missing person report.
Endangering charges
STRUTHERS -- Dora Robles, 26, of East Midlothian Boulevard was released after posting a $1,000 bond after she was arraigned Tuesday on child endangering charges.
Police said Robles left her infant unattended in a car parked at a Crescent Street apartment Tuesday morning. A neighbor heard the child crying and notified police after the mother failed to return.
Stream cleanup
CANFIELD -- The Alliance for Watershed Action and Riparian Easements and The Mahoning River Consortium, in cooperation with Poland village, will have a stream cleanup day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Gloves and trash bags will be provided for participants. Volunteers will meet at the College Street parking lot.

Minority Health Fair
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Citywide Minority Health Fair will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Associated Neighborhood Center, 1649 Jacobs Road.
Apartment fire
AUSTINTOWN -- A pan of grease left on a stove started a fire this morning that caused about $13,000 damage to a Westchester Drive apartment. There were no injuries.
Dog-shooting arrest
BOARDMAN -- Police have arrested a Shadyside Drive man accused of shooting a dog owned by another family in the neighborhood and throwing the animal's body into a trash bin.
James M. Terranova, 24, is charged with misdemeanor cruelty to animals and felony tampering with police evidence. He will be arraigned in Mahoning County court here tonight.
Fight, assault at school
CAMPBELL -- A 17-year-old Hamilton Avenue girl was arrested at Campbell High School Wednesday morning in the assault of another 17-year-old girl.
Police said that after the girls were sent to the assistant principal's office for fighting, one of them picked up a coffee mug and threw it at the other, striking her in the head.
