INFOCISION Coitsville resident gave boss suggestion for office location

The company is already considering expanding its New Castle office.

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Kay Buyny Skripac is returning home and she's bringing some new jobs with her.
Skripac, a city native, works for InfoCision Management Corp., an Akron-based telemarketing firm that announced Tuesday it is opening a new call center at 117 Cascade Galleria.
The new office opens Monday and about 30 people already have been hired, said Steven R. Brubaker, senior vice president of telecommunications. InfoCision also has locations in Austintown and Boardman.
Skripac, of Coitsville Township in Mahoning County, works as a personnel secretary in the Austintown office, and she suggested New Castle when she learned the company was looking to expand.
"When Kmart announced it was closing [its Neshannock Township location], I knew there would be about 200 people out of work," she said.
Brubaker said the company investigated the area and found a good labor market.
"We found there are people here with skills that are a good fit for our client. We want to hire people who want a career -- a long-term job, not a part-time job," he added.
Mayor Tim Fulkerson welcomed company officials to the city and expressed hope the business would provide a positive spark for New Castle.
"People say when are things going to change. We believe they have changed because we are attracting businesses like InfoCision," the mayor said.
All positions in the new call center are full time, and the pay ranges from $7 to $9 an hour depending on experience. Bonuses, health insurance and retirement plans are also available for employees, Brubaker said.
About the company
InfoCision is a telemarketing company in which employees in its religious, nonprofit, political and residential divisions call homes and businesses seeking contributions or recruiting volunteers.
The company's commercial division handles inbound calls and makes telemarketing calls for companies.
InfoCision needed another call center to accommodate several new commercial clients and was looking for a location not far from its Akron base, Brubaker said.
He added the company already is talking about expanding the New Castle office to include work for InfoCision nonprofit clients. The total work force here could eventually be about 250 people, Brubaker said.
Skripac said she will transfer to the new office.
"I hope this all works out. I have a lot of faith in the people of New Castle," she said.
InfoCision has 19 other locations in Ohio and West Virginia and employs about 2,500 people.
