Walk to call attention to health system

COLUMBIANA -- Dr. David Vitko, a chiropractor, is taking his plan for improved health care to Washington -- on foot.
Dr. Vitko has been on a two-week fast, drinking water only, and dropped 20 pounds from his 225-pound frame. He plans to walk 300 miles to Washington, D.C., in nine days to draw attention to what he calls "America's ailing health-care system."
Dr. Vitko has planned a speech at 7 tonight at the First Christian Church, 39 Cherry St., to discuss his plan to improve America's health.
During the trek he plans to walk 30 miles a day, eating only 600 calories -- nuts, fruits and vegetables -- each day.
Once in Washington, he plans to meet with Ohio's congressional leaders and hopes to convince them of the need for change in the health-care system.
