Smith-Akers wedding is set for late July

YOUNGSTOWN -- The engagement of Kristine Smith and Thomas A. Akers Jr., both of Laramie, Wyo., is being announced by her parents, Victor and Donna Smith, 3323 Belden Ave.
Parents of the prospective groom are Gale VanFosson of Youngstown and Thomas Sr. and Yvone Akers of Panama City, Fla.
An open ceremony is planned for 1:30 p.m. July 27 at the gazebo in Boardman Township Park, and invitations will be extended for a reception to be held that evening at The Elm Tree in Struthers.
Miss Smith attended Youngstown State University and is employed at Laramie Boomerang in Laramie.
Mr. Akers is a student at the Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie.
