COITSVILLE -- Township residents may drop off used appliances Saturday through May 4 at the township administration building, 3737 McCartney Road. The drop-off site will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Lawn furniture, copper wiring and Freon also will be collected; no pressure tanks will be accepted. For a minimal fee, residents may drop off tires from cars and small trucks from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 8 and 15. Disposal fees for tires are $1.50; $3 for tires with rims.
Crime prevention
YOUNGSTOWN -- "Protecting yourself against crime and scams" will be the topic of Dee Scotchie, editor of the city police department's Golden Gazette crime prevention newsletter, when she speaks to the Southern Boulevard Block Watch at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The meeting will be in St. Dominic Parish Center, 3403 Southern Blvd.
