PENN STATE Shenango alumni fund-raiser offers cool treats for sale
The ice cream sale helps to fund scholarships.
SHARON, Pa. -- The Penn State Shenango Alumni Society is sponsoring its annual ice cream sale, offering "A Taste of Penn State" directly from the college Creamery at State College, Pa.
Proceeds from the sale help fund the society's scholarship program at the Penn State branch campus.
There are 10 flavors available, and all ice cream is sold in half-gallon containers. The price is $5.25 per half-gallon or $5 each for orders of three or more.
This year's sale will also feature Grilled Stickies sweet rolls from Ye Old College Diner in State College, Pa. They are available for $3.50 for a package of six.
May 3 is the order deadline and May 11 is the pickup date.
Getting your order: Arrangements can be made to pick up orders at Sharon High School on East State Street between 9 a.m. and noon; Canfield Middle School at 42 Wadsworth St., Canfield, from 9 a.m. to noon; or Augustine's Pizza Shop, 833 E. Lutton St., New Castle, from noon to 2 p.m.
Any ice cream not picked up will be donated to community service agencies.

This year's flavors are: Death by Chocolate, Butter Pecan, Peachy Paterno, Raspberry Fudge Torte, Vanilla, Mint Chocolate Chip, Bananas Foster, Orange Vanilla Sundae, Peanut Butter Cup and Coffee Chocolate Chip.
