Trumbull prevailsin game for Bubba
David Soda of Niles scored 18 points to lead Trumbull County to a 101-94 victory over Mahoning County, in the inaugural Frank Bubba Memorial All-Star Game on Friday at Warren Harding High.
For his effort, Soda was named Trumbull's Most Valuable Player. He made 8-of-11 field goals while grabbing 17 rebounds and blocking four shots.
Ellis Moody of Woodrow Wilson, who scored 15 points, was named Mahoning County's MVP. He had 12 in the second half as Mahoning County rallied from 21 points down to close the gap.
Proceeds of the contest will go toward the Frank Bubba Memorial Scholarship Fund. Bubba was the coach at Warren Harding before passing away earlier this year.
