Two women bound over in 2 killings

YOUNGSTOWN -- The cases of two women accused of unrelated city killings have been bound over from municipal court to a Mahoning County grand jury.
Deborah Graham, 41, of Columbus, faces an aggravated murder charge in the killing of boyfriend Ulysses Watkins, 55, at his East Side home. She is accused of threatening him with "marry me by Easter or else" during a telephone conversation about a half-hour before she went to the South Truesdale Avenue address March 26 and shot him.
Graham turned herself in to authorities within hours of Watkins' death.
Graham's case was bound over last week by Judge Elizabeth A. Kobly.
Judge Kobly also bound over the case of Kisha Roman, 31, of Hunter Avenue. Roman faces a charge of reckless homicide for the March 24 shooting death of neighbor Dennis Best at his South Side home. Best, 49, lived across the street.
City detectives said Roman had taken the gun to Best after he was in a fight with three men. Roman told police Best had pulled the gun's trigger several times and it did not fire. She said she thought the gun was unloaded when she pulled the trigger to fire the bullet that struck Best. He was found with a bullet wound behind his left ear.
