YOUNGSTOWN 2 men arrested after gun blast shatters door

The suspect faces three charges of felonious assault, a charge of shooting into a habitation and two weapons charges.
YOUNGSTOWN -- City police arrested two men after a shooting on the city's South Side. The 41-year-old resident of the School Street home told police a man she used to date came to the home about 1:30 a.m. today, wanting to talk.
When she asked him to leave, he refused but returned to a vehicle parked in the driveway after the woman's 17-year-old daughter also asked him to leave.
The mother and daughter were walking near the door when the ex-boyfriend fired a shot that blasted out the glass security door, police reports show. The woman's disabled father, 63, was sitting in a chair near the door at the time.
The shooter then fled in a blue Buick, reports show.
Suspects charged: Officers arrested the man, 26, of Parkcliff Avenue, after a short chase after they saw the car drive past the suspect's home and onto Clearmount Drive, police reports show. Officers said they saw the man throw a 20-gauge sawed-off shotgun from the passenger window. The gun was found on Clearmount.
The suspect faces three charges of felonious assault, a charge of shooting into a habitation and two weapons charges. He was also arrested on an outstanding-assault warrant.
Also arrested was the driver of the car, 34, of Liberty Road, on charges of complicity to shooting into a habitation. He also faces a charge of driving under suspension.
