At its meeting Monday, village council:
Approved an ordinance changing the one-year probationary period for police sergeant/detective to six months.
Approved an ordinance changing the cadet patrolman's salary to $12.05 an hour for the probationary period of six months.
Passed an emergency ordinance limiting parking areas and times on Massachusetts Avenue, Parkside Place, Ravine Drive and Madison Street for safety reasons.
Passed a resolution accepting the $29,017 bid of Foust Construction, Youngstown, for the McKinley Boulevard waterline project.
Heard Bill Johnson of Ravine Drive, who complained some signs are unnecessary or in poor condition, resulting in lowering property values.
Heard Stacy Sowers, 406 Park Ave., complain about the condition of the park's baseball fields. Sowers said the baseball league generated 3,000 visitors last year and that the poor condition of the fields and surrounding areas reflect on the village's public image.
