MLK memorial luncheon
GIRARD -- The Youngstown Chapter of the A. Philip Randolph Institute sponsors a memorial luncheon tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Mahoning Country Club, 710 Liberty St. The Rev. Dr. King was assassinated April 4, 1968, in Memphis, Tenn.
The speaker is George Freeman, president of the Ohio A. Philip Randolph Institute. Three scholarships will be awarded to students from the Youngstown schools in memory of the late James Tillman, the longtime president of the Youngstown chapter.
