COLUMBIANA -- For the second straight day, the Columbiana High School baseball team enjoyed a big rally in the fifth inning.
Friday, the Clippers scored eight runs in the fifth to beat Leetonia, 12-2.
Saturday, the Clippers scored six runs to beat Lowellville 11-1 at Firestone Park. Columbiana (3-1) also scored four runs in the fourth.
Dean Stokes (1-0) worked four innings, allowing one hit while striking out nine to pick up the win.
Stokes also provided some offense with a triple, double, three RBIs, two stolen bases and two runs scored.
Brett Seybert of the Clippers went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
West Branch 8-7, United 0-5: HANOVERTON -- Robert Stull threw a no-hitter with 15 strikeouts and he went 3-for-3 at the plate for the Warriors (2-2).
Stull walked just one for the Warriors, who scored five runs in the first inning of the opener.
Drew Romigh, Stull, Drew Barker and Don Close each had two hits for West Branch in the nightcap.
Cory Manfoll had two hits for United (0-3) in the second game.
Mineral Ridge 10, Garrettsville Garfield 2: MINERAL RIDGE -- Kevin Garland fired a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts and also had a double, single and two RBIs to lead Mineral Ridge.
Sean Fowler clouted a three-run homer for the Rams while Nathan Zimmerman chipped in two singles.
Louisville 8, Salem 1: SALEM -- John Karasarides allowed one unearned run and three hits as Louisville (3-0) defeated Salem. Landon Heath took the loss for the Quakers (1-4).
