WARREN New health center will offer various services

The medical center is expected to open in July.
WARREN -- The public will soon have a new health-care facility.
Warren West Community Health Center, in the former Rite Aid building at Tod Avenue and Palmyra Road, is being remodeled to house dental, medical, mental health, hearing and speech, nutritional counseling and health education services.
The facility is expected to open in July on the west side, a socially and economically disadvantaged area where one-third of residents live below the poverty level.
Youngstown Community Health Center received a federal grant in August to open the facility in Trumbull County.
Additional money to renovate the building and expand services was procured through the TMH Foundation and Raymond J. Wean Foundation.
Office space has been provided by Trumbull Community Action Program.
Other details: The services will be offered in addition to primary adult and pediatric care being provided on a smaller scale at the current location in the TCAP building on Palmyra.
The center will accept Medicare, Medicaid and most major insurance plans. A sliding-fee scale based on the federal poverty guidelines is available for those without insurance.
Once it opens, appointments can be made by calling (330) 373-0222 or (330) 747-9551.
