"Lance Brown's Tribute to Will Rogers." Journey into the roots of the American experience. Brown plays and sings the cowboy songs and popular music of Rogers' day. The special program will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 7 at Boardman. Limited space; the first 100 adults will be seated.
"Teen Read Week." Oct. 13-20 with a kickoff event from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 13 at Boardman featuring WHOT-Hot 101. A finale celebration will take place from noon to 2 p.m. Oct. 20 at Austintown with DJs from Kiss-FM Radio, WAKZ. Theme for the week will be "Make Reading a Hobbit," celebrating the J.R.R. Tolkien trilogy.
"Kickin' Karate Demonstration." Presented by the Family Martial Arts Center at 4 p.m. on the following dates: Oct. 16 at South, Oct. 17 at East and Oct. 18 at North.
"Boo to You." Stories, craft and more for children ages 3-6 at 10 a.m. Oct. 17 at West, 5:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at East, 11 a.m. Oct. 20 at North and 3 p.m. Oct. 20 at South. Youngsters are encouraged to attend in costume.
"Fright Night." Scary stories and games for ages 7 and up at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at North, 5:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at South and 4 p.m. Oct. 25 at East. (No Halloween content.)
