ALEXIA SARANTOPOULOSTASOS KARAKOSTAS
BOARDMAN -- St. John's Greek Orthodox Church was the setting at 4 p.m. Aug. 18 for the wedding of Alexia Sarantopoulos of South Beach, Fla., and Dr. Tasos Karakostas of Lubbock, Texas.
Concelebrants were the Rev. Andrew Kolitsos and the Rev. Anargyros Stavropoulos.
A reception was held afterward in the Marble Room at Stambaugh Auditorium, Youngstown.
The bride is a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Costas Sarantopoulos of Boardman, and the groom is a son of Mrs. Kati Karakostas of Athens, Greece.
The bride wore a jeweled stole and a strapless Italian silk satin gown embellished with a band of pearls and crystals and featuring a chapel train.
A lilac gown was worn by Stacy Kinnas, the honor attendant. Flower girls were Kiriaki Sarantopoulos and Olga and Giovana Condoleon.
Best man was Dr. Harris Mantzaridis, and groomsmen were Spiros Kinnas and Athan and John Sarantopoulos. Ring bearer was Yanna Kinnas.
Also participating was Pamela Condoleon.
The couple live in Lubbock.
The bride, a professional audiologist, received a bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders from Ohio State University and a master's from the University of Cincinnati.
The groom, a professor in the physical therapy department of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, graduated from Michigan State University with a master's in biomechanics and earned his doctorate in biomechanical engineering at Ohio State University.
