MAHONING COUNTY
Halloween Town: Opens Sept. 28 at Yellow Duck Park, U.S. Route 46 between Canfield and Columbiana, 7 to 10 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 28, 6:30 to 10 p.m. Oct. 29-31. Pumpkin Carve-out contest Oct. 12-14 only: 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. 24th annual Witch Walk: "The Woods," located in front of Glenwood Middle School, Glenwood Avenue sponsored by Boardman High School art students. 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 20 and 21, 27 and 28. Admission $1 per person, under 3 years old admitted free.
Crazed Corn Maze: Beight Farm, 11490 1/2 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road, New Middletown: 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays Oct. 5-27. Cost $7 per person. Groups of 20 or more receive a $1 discount per person. School field trips may be scheduled during the day by making reservations. Witch Hazel and Witch's Cave: Mill Creek Park, meet at the suspension bridge, 2 p.m. Oct. 28 for a 2 1/2 -mile hike with moderate difficulty. Join us for a look at things in nature that remind us of Halloween and folklore that may have been used in magic and medicine.

Ghost Walk Supper: Trumbull County Historical Society will be serving a pre-Ghost Walk supper at the John Stark Edwards House, 303 Monroe N.W., Warren, 5 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19 and 26. Cost is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children under 12. Reservations are a must. Call (330) 392-8725.

COLUMBIANA COUNTY
Halloween Happenings: Detwiler Farm, 4520 Road, Columbiana, one mile west of U.S. Route 46, five miles south of Canfield and 2 miles north of Columbiana. Hayrides to the 10-acre "you-pick" pumpkin patch, straw maze, four-acre cornfield maze, petting zoo, fall decorations, apples and cider. Noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 28.

Shocktoberfest: "Terror" City Amphitheater adjacent to Tower City Center, downtown Cleveland. 7 to midnight Fridays and Saturdays, 7 to 11 p.m. Thursdays and Sundays Oct. 5-28. Admission includes concert (Mushroomhead Oct. 5, or Alice Cooper, Oct. 6), two haunted houses, thrill rides and sideshow entertainment featuring The Enigma from the Jim Rose Circus.
