YSU head gets raise
YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown State University trustees approved Friday a 3.7 percent pay raise for President David Sweet.
The raise boosts Sweet's annual salary from $185,100 to $192,000. He also receives a $36,000 annual housing allowance and $7,200 annual car allowance.
Trustees named the university's new welcome center after Robert H. and Marilyn S. Sweeney.
The Sweeney Welcome Center, formerly Dana Hall, will be a central location for the community and prospective students to get information about the university.
Paving project delay
CANFIELD -- The start of a paving project on East Main Street has been delayed until 7 a.m. Wednesday so construction crews can complete other projects.The south side of the street will be paved first.
