U Provide a highly visible armed deterrent at security checkpoints.
U Monitor and reinforce checkpoint structure and operations.
U Monitor alertness and performance of screeners of carry-on baggage and, in conjunction with the ground security coordinator, ensure corrective actions are taken as necessary.
U Provide assistance to screeners and supervisors as necessary.
U Assist in responding to and resolving routine contentious situations when requested.
U Assist local law enforcement conducting regular duties at the checkpoint upon request.
U Evaluate checkpoint operations and provide observations and recommendations to the checkpoint supervisors and the Federal Aviation Administration.
