Walk-a-thon will benefit child-care program at center

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown Chapter of Links Inc. will hold its annual walk-a-thon from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Wick Park.
The theme is "Physical Activity Promotes Good Health."
Proceeds will provide tutoring, nutritious meals and supervised activities for children in grades 1 through 6 in the School Age Child Care Program at the United Methodist Community Center and for educational and social activities for hearing-impaired children.
The event will be held rain or shine.
Exercises will be conducted in the park pavilion, and healthy snacks will be available for the participants.
