Local victims
These people with ties to the Mahoning and Shenango valleys have been reported either dead, missing or injured in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks against the United States at the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon near Washington, D.C.:
WORLD TRADE CENTER
BRAD FETCHET, 25, of New Canaan, Conn., a native of Liberty, is missing. He was working as a broker with Keefer-Bruyette-Woods Inc., a brokerage and investment banking firm with offices on the 89th floor of Tower 2, also known as the South Tower, the second tower hit by a hijacked jet at the World Trade Center. His grandparents, Pete and Betty Fetchet, live in Liberty.
RUTH KETLER, 43, a native of Grove City, Pa., living in New York City, is missing. She was on the top floor of Tower 2 during the attack. Her aunt, Alice Ketler, lives in Grove City.
REBECCA KOBORIE, 48, of Guttenberg, N.J., a 1971 graduate of Sharon (Pa.) High School, is missing. She was believed to be at work on the 97th floor of Tower 1, or the North Tower, the first tower to be struck. Her parents, John and Julianne Koborie, live in Sharon.
LUDWIG PICARRO, 44, a New Castle native, is missing. He was working for Zurich American Insurance Group, whose offices are near the World Trade Center, and he was at a meeting on the 100th floor of Tower 2. He was living in Basking Ridge, N.J., with wife, Susan, also a New Castle native, and their children, Matthew, 8, and Andrew, 15. His mother, Antoinette, lives in New Castle.
CATHERINE SALTER, 36, a 1982 Wellsville High School graduate, is missing. Salter worked in Tower 2. Her mother, Eleanor Salter, lives in Rogers.
THE PENTAGON
TERRY LYNCH, 49, a 1970 Ursuline High School graduate, was killed in the crash at the Pentagon. He was there doing consulting work for Booz Allen Hamilton, a global company with offices in Virginia. He lived in Mount Vernon, Va., with his wife, the former Jacqueline Frechko, a 1971 Austintown Fitch High School graduate. His parents are Thomas and Cathleen Lynch of Northville, Mich., formerly of Austintown.
MARTHA RESZKE, 56, was killed at the Pentagon, where she worked as a budget analyst at the Department of Defense/Army Resources. Her husband, James, is a former Austintown resident now living in Stafford, Va. Two sisters still live in this area: Lorraine Hughes of Austintown and Peggy Alfred of Youngstown.
